Costs & Settlements

The costs page is your financial dashboard. It shows the total costs, how they break down per member, and who owes what. This guide explains how everything is calculated.

Cost Overview

The cost overview shows three key metrics: total costs, total distance, and number of members. Below that, you will find a detailed breakdown table.

Each row in the table shows a member's distance driven, trip cost, fuel paid, maintenance paid, fixed cost share, and their overall balance.

How Balances Work

Your balance is the difference between what you owe and what you have paid. A positive balance means other members owe you money. A negative balance means you owe others.

Balances are calculated from all data: trips driven (what you owe), fuel and maintenance paid (what you contributed), and fixed costs like insurance and tax (shared equally).

Settling Up

When balances are uneven, click "Settle Up" to record a payment between members. Enter the amount and an optional description.

Settlements are recorded in the system and adjust the balances accordingly. You can see all past settlements in the settlements section.

Settle up regularly — monthly or after each trip — to keep balances manageable.

Shared Bank Account Mode

If your group uses a shared bank account, enable this in your vehicle's settings. In this mode, members contribute to a communal pool based on their trips.

Trip fees are deposited into the pool, and shared expenses (maintenance, insurance, tax) are paid from it. The pool balance shows whether the account has a surplus or deficit.

Each member can see their contribution balance — how much they have contributed versus how much they should have based on their usage.
