Refueling
Fuel is often the biggest recurring cost for shared vehicles. Camper Split makes it easy to log every fill-up and ensure fuel costs are split proportionally.
Logging a Fuel-up
Go to the Refueling tab and click "Log Refuel". Enter the following details:
- Date of the fuel-up
- Volume in liters
- Total cost or price per liter (one calculates the other)
- Current odometer reading (optional but recommended)
The odometer reading helps Camper Split track fuel efficiency over time and keeps the vehicle's recorded mileage up to date.
Fuel Cost Tracking
All fuel entries are visible to every vehicle member. The costs overview shows total fuel spending and how it breaks down per member.
When combined with trip data, Camper Split can show you the actual fuel cost per kilometer and per trip.
Log every fill-up, even small top-ups. Consistent logging gives you the most accurate fuel cost data.
Linking to Trips
Like maintenance entries, refueling can be linked to specific trips. This is especially useful on longer journeys where you fill up multiple times.
Linked fuel entries appear in the trip's cost breakdown alongside the distance-based trip fee and any maintenance costs.
