Trips
Trips are how Camper Split tracks who drove how far. Each trip records the start and end odometer readings, and the app calculates the distance and cost automatically.
Starting a Trip
Go to the Trips tab and click "Start Trip". Enter a descriptive title (e.g. "Weekend at the coast") and the current odometer reading.
The trip is now marked as active. You can see it on your dashboard and in the trips list.
Ending a Trip
When your trip is complete, open the active trip and click "End Trip". Enter the current odometer reading.
Camper Split calculates the distance (end minus start odometer) and multiplies it by the configured rate per kilometer to determine the trip cost.
Only one trip can be active at a time. End the current trip before starting a new one.
Adding Past Trips
Need to log a trip that already happened? Use "Add Past Trip" to enter the start date, end date, and both odometer readings.
This is useful when you are just getting started with Camper Split and want to add historical data.
How Trip Costs Work
Each trip's cost is calculated as: distance (km) multiplied by the contribution per km rate set in your vehicle's settings.
For example, if you drove 250 km and the rate is 0.20 per km, the trip cost is 50.00. This amount is attributed to the member who drove.
You can also link maintenance and refueling entries to specific trips to see the full cost breakdown for each journey.
